Why THRIVE
THRIVE creates places where young people and families are not simply served—they are seen, heard, and invited to build on the strengths they already carry.
Neighbors, volunteers, and families show what shared care looks like across THRIVE’s events and programs.
About THRIVE
THRIVE Community Service Inc. provides supportive services to youth and families through mentoring, workshops, family programs, community events, spiritual guidance, and social development.
THRIVE's mission is simple and unwavering: helping individuals see beyond their circumstances and see hope in themselves.
We believe lasting change begins when people have a safe place to be understood, practical support for the season they are in, and opportunities to discover their own capacity to thrive.
Where we began
THRIVE Community Service Inc. began in 2017 with the Breaking the Silence Conference, creating space for connection, encouragement, healing, and empowerment. The Breaking the Silence Conference is more than a conference — it is a movement. Now that the silence is broken, women are empowered to make an IMPACT OF HOPE by becoming VISIBLE, VOCAL, and VALUED in their homes, their communities, and beyond. Founded by Rev. Beverly Renee Sanders, THRIVE became an official nonprofit in 2019, expanding its commitment to serving youth, women, and families. Through Family F.U.N. Night (Family Understanding Night), the annual Oh What A Treat neighborhood celebration, backpack giveaways, holiday support, and community partnerships, THRIVE continues to bring hope and strengthen community. Our story is rooted in faith, service, and helping people recognize the strength and purpose already within them.

In addition to her nonprofit leadership, Rev Bev serves full-time as Adult Service Coordinator/Case Manager at SOME (So Others Might Eat), where she walks alongside individuals and families every day — bringing the heart of THRIVE's mission into her daily work.
Her service reaches across community, church, and health ministry. During COVID, she served as Care Coordinator for the Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church Virtual Health Ministry through the Leadership Council of Healthy Communities, and presently leads the Cedars of Lebanon Youth and REVAMP Young Adult Ministry as Youth and Young Adult Minister.
